Celebrating the 30th Solstrand Customer Conference
The Solstrand Conference is Cargill in Norway’s annual happening for customers in the mid- and southwestern region of Norway. The venue is the historic Solstrand hotel outside Bergen, and the 30 year anniversary event became a memorable one for everyone attending.
Conference topic: challenges and potential
The program offered prestigous speakers covering learnings from the pioneer area to now and the future outlook, as well as trends, analysis and possibilities.
The customer highlights: announcing the VINN winners
A banquet concluded the conference, and announcing the winners of the VINN award became a true highlight in the evening. The VINN award, previously known as Framifrå Production, is a competition where Cargill awards the localities with best production results of farmed salmon and trout. Cargill uses its production surveillance tool, EGI (EWOS Growth Index), to decide the winners. This year, we awarded Salmon and Trout from the Fall 2015-generation, and from the Spring 2016-generation.
The winners:
- Salmon Fall 2015-generation: Cargill Innovation Center, locality Oltesvik, by Erling Levik and Tore Wick Henriksen.
- Trout Fall 2015-generation: Osland Havbruk, locality Eidesberget, by Monica Molland and Eva Ynnesdal.
- Salmon Spring 2016-generation: Eide Fjordbruk, locality Hågardneset, by Trygve Samnøy.
- Trout Spring 2016-generation: Lerøy Sjøtroll, locality Tveitnesvik, by Lars Olav Bondhus and Dan Erik Johannessen.
